SATAN’S THINKING TRAPS TO MESS UP YOUR LIFE

By Dr. Joe Brumfield, Harding University

1. This is just the way I am, I can’t change.

2. I come from a dysfunctional family, my

    problems aren’t my fault.

3. I can’t be happy unless people like me.

4. Everything has to be fair or my life is ruined.

5. I do not need anybody.

6. Strong men don’t show emotion.

7. Strong women don’t show emotion.

8. Only wimps admit weakness.

9. Things have to go my way for me to be

     happy.

10. I can’t forgive people who don’t deserve it.

11. Nobody loves me, nobody would want to.

12. If it’s okay with everybody else, that means

      it’s all right.

13. I can work hard enough to prove or earn

      my value.

14. I have to do everything perfect or no one

      will accept me.

15. Getting things I want will make life

      enjoyable.

16. If I don’t feel forgiven, I must not be

      forgiven.

17. There is a magic cure for my problem.

18. It is too late for me to change.

19. I can’t change what I think.

20. I can’t change what I feel.

21. My childhood must always effect me.

22. God can’t forgive my past.

23. Too much damage has been done to

      correct or change things.

24. Everyone is against me.

          25. If only __________________ hadn’t happened,

                then I’d be happy.

Faith doesn’t get you around trouble; it gets you through it.
